Meet Judge Baxley:
Judge Ben Baxley began his legal career after graduating from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1989, serving in various prosecutorial roles in Alabama, including positions in Tuscaloosa, DeKalb, and Cherokee counties, as well as with the Alabama Attorney General's Office where he prosecuted public corruption and violent crimes throughout the state.
In 2015, Judge Baxley accepted the role as an Assistant US Attorney for the Middle District of Alabama where he would later be appointed Deputy Criminal Chief. Baxley returned to the Alabama Attorney General’s Office in 2020 to serve as Chief of the Opinions Division until May of 2024. On May 17, 2024, Ben was sworn in as District Judge of Elmore County after being appointed by Governor Kay Ivey, where he primarily presides over juvenile, small claims, and district court civil cases.
Ben is married to Nacole Baxley of Fort Payne. They have two children, Gavan, age 19 and Ava, age 17.
